The design, whilst innovative and modern, carefully respects the Victorian style of the adjoining properties and of the curving crescent.

Extensive consultation was undertaken with the local community. Planning permission and Conservation Area consents were granted in early 2005.

It is hoped that the implementation of the scheme will herald the
start of a renaissance in the town.
